Top Marvel Preview Comic Books in 2026

If you've never heard of Marvel's Curtis Preview magazine series, then you probably aren't alone.

Marvel Preview was the birthplace of two GOTG characters. Also the first Punisher origin storyMarvel Preview was the birthplace of two GOTG characters. Also the first Punisher origin story

Back in the mid-1950s, the Comics Code Authority spoiled the party for comic book publishers.

True, old horror comics and crime comics had become too graphic.

They featured undead, demonic characters, violence, decapitation, sexualized images and more.

The Code prevented them from continuing. But by the 1970s, tastes had changed.

Horror movies and TV shows had desensitized consumers.

But the Code was still in place for comics. So Marvel (amongst others) created Curtis Magazines and published adult-focused black and white comics in magazine format to escape the Code rules.

Marvel Preview saw the first appearances of Star Lord and Rocket Racoon.
