Since 1974, The Punisher, aka Frank Castle, has been an anti-hero in the Spider-Man comics world.

Introduced in Amazing Spider-Man #129 as an outright villain, Punisher appeared over the years as a frenemy of Spider-Man too.

He spun off into his own comic book series in the mid-1980s, in addition to appearing occasionally in Spider-Man comics.

He's a top entry on the all-time best Spider-Man villains list.

Punisher has starred in his own series, spanning two seasons, starring John Bernthal as Frank Castle.
