Todd McFarlane is the master of creating variant comics to appease his legion of loyal fans.
Spawn has "spawned" many variant comics over the lifetime of its long run. This is one of the most famous.
It's also relatively rare by variant comic standards. Not the rarest, but not plentiful in the market either.
There are only 67 Universal and 28 signed copies in the CGC census.
Despite this scarcity and the popularity of Spawn comics, not to mention McFarlane's work, this book has lost 40 percent of its value since the pandemic bubble burst.
But that's OK. It is more accessible for collectors now, yet still a valuable modern variant comic.
