This is the BIG one. The most valuable variant cover comic ever is an Amazing Spider-Man comic.

Not only that, it's by a country mile the most valuable modern comic ever.

And incidentally, the second-biggest loser in dollar terms after the market bubble burst.

What the future holds for this comic is debatable. For sure there are more copies out there to be found, but not so many that lots just flood the market and kill the value of what's already known.

There are a total of 70 Universal and 15 signed copies of the Amazing Spider Man #667 Del'Otto Variant in the CGC census.

That number has almost doubled in the past few years; I expect more copies "in the wild" to be pressed and graded in the coming years.

That said, it does seem to be a genuinely scarce comic book.

Demand is still huge. Despite the pandemic bubble bursting, collectors are prepared to pay nearly $30K for a CGC 9.8. That compares to the pandemic high of $43K.

It sounds like a steep drop, but there are modern keys which have lost 90 percent of their value since the bubble burst! So 35 percent is actually not that bad.
